Capital Electric Cooperative is in the process of transitioning members that are still entering their meter readings online on our homepage to do so online through our E-bill system. The E-bill system is an online tool that allows you to view your bills, enter meter readings, pay your bill online, query on billing and payment history, etc.
At this time, we'd like to encourage you to sign up for E-bill and begin entering your meter readings that way. One advantage to you is that your meter number(s) will show up automatically and all you have to do is enter the reading(s). You will also have access to the other online options that are available with E-bill (You are not required to use the other options). One advantage to both CEC and you, the member, is that when a reading is entered via E-bill, it updates our computer system automatically, eliminating the chances of miss-keys and/or other mistakes we might make in re-keying the information such as in those readings we get online from our homepage.
If you have not previously signed up for E-bill, register here for online account access. You will be prompted for your account number, name, email address and password. After submitting your information, the system will verify you against our records and if entered properly, your login will be activated. Please note that if you have multiple account numbers under the same member number, you only need to sign up for E-bill one time and all of your account numbers can be assessed from the same login. If you are having trouble accessing your account information, contact our billing department for help.
Once you have an active login, you can access your E-bill account at any time by either going straight to the E-bill web page or by accessing the Capital Electric web page and selecting the same E-bill hyperlink as above, but instead of selecting the option to sign up for a new account, you will simply login with your email address and password.
Once you have signed into your E-bill account, there is an option to submit your meter reading. Please browse around the E-bill system to understand what other options are available to you. One option that we encourage you to utilize is to receive an electronic bill notification instead of a paper bill. If you select this option, an email is sent you as soon as the bills are calculated, informing you that your bill can be viewed online. We encourage you to turn off the paper bill option if you elect to receive an electronic bill. This helps the cooperative save mailing and overhead costs and in turn, have higher margins to pass back to you, our members. You can select to receive an electronic bill and/or stop receiving a paper bill by clicking on "Stop/Start Print Bill".
As always, the staff at Capital Electric Cooperative strives to provide the most reliable service possible to our members at the lowest possible cost. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us.
