Line conversion improves efficiency

Housing developments are steadily being added in north Bismarck and traffic continues to increase. To ease congestion on roads that lead to homes, schools and churches in the area, north Washington Street is being converted from a two-lane to a four-lane road from Calgary Avenue to 57th Avenue.

RDFC Awards Grant to Wing Booster Club

The Rural Development Finance Corporation (RDFC) has recently awarded a $2,000 grant to The Wing Booster Club, located in Wing, ND. The Wing Booster Club finances and operates the Wing Theatre. The theatre is located on Main Street and serves rural and urban individuals and families from the Wing, McClusky, Tuttle, Sterling, Wilton, Steele and Bismarck/Mandan vicinity. The theatre is also operated by dedicated community volunteers each weekend beginning in April.

Director David Liuska retires after 33 years of service

David Liuska retired from the Capital Electric Cooperative board of directors in June after completing his final three-year term. A representative of District 2A from Wing, David has served 33 years.

Hesse earns cooperative scholarship

Natasha Hesse has goals, and Capital Electric Cooperative members are helping her meet them. A senior at Century High School in Bismarck, Natasha says she is very aware of how student debt can build up fast.

Charitable Trust awards grants

The board members who serve on the Capital Electric Cooperative Charitable Trust meet two times a year to review Operation Round Up applications and award grants. In February, Roger Christianson, Jerry Doan, LeAna Hug, Barb Handy-Marchello and Jim McCullough reviewed applications that were submitted by Jan. 31.
