Warehouseman Mike Schneider retired after working at Capital Electric Cooperative for 37 years, checking inventory, getting quotes, comparing prices, and ordering and unloading materials.



MacDonald Ranch earns Tree Care Award

Gusty winds blowing sandy soil were causing erosion around the MacDonald Ranch south of Bismarck. So William (Bill) and Linda MacDonald, third-generation farmers and ranchers, and members of Capital Electric Cooperative, started planting trees back in 1968. Linda recalls planting “miles and miles” of trees in half-mile strips.

If you need assistance paying your utility bill this winter, you might qualify for energy assistance through the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP). Federally funded and administered by the N.D. Department of Human Services and county social services, LIHEAP provides the following services for eligible individuals and families:

October is Co-op Month

A 50-year tradition continues, as once again, “October is Co-op Month.”

Co-op Month has been a nationally recognized celebration since 1964, when U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Orville Freeman, a former Minnesota governor, proclaimed October is Co-op Month.
