Co-ops power your dreams
The theme of this year’s Mandan Fourth of July parade was "American Dreams." Electric cooperatives provide power to their member-owners, enabling them to pursue their dreams. That’s why the slogan, "Powering your Dreams," made sense for this year’s co-op parade entries.
Employees from Capital Electric Cooperative (CEC), Basin Electric Power Cooperative, Mor-Gran-Sou Electric Cooperative and Innovative Energy Alliance Cooperative walked alongside bucket trucks at this year’s celebration. Mor-Gran-Sou provided a digger derrick truck, and Basin Electric provided a large Condor bucket truck for use in the parade. Co-op employees decorated the trucks in a patriotic theme.
The parade has become an annual highlight for local cooperatives, allowing them to make a personal connection with member-owners and other community members. Thousands of people attend the parade, braving the heat and sun to collect candy for the kids and socialize with friends and family.
Cooperative members reflect a sense of pride in their co-op when they recognize employees in the parade. Having a good number of walkers from the co-ops helps with the connection as well. Handing a member-owner a trinket that represents their co-op means something to them.
CEC appreciates its member-owners and looks forward to seeing them each year at the parade and other community events. We will continue to "power your dreams" for years to come.
