BYLAW CHANGES TO BE VOTED ON AT THE ANNUAL MEETING

Capital Electric Cooperative’s (CEC) Board of Directors has approved a proposal to change portions of the Cooperative’s bylaws.These proposed changes will be voted upon by the membership as part of the 2023 annual meeting election process.We encourage you to review the proposed changes affecting multiple sections of they bylaws.Click on the links below to view either the red-lined version of the entire bylaws, or the shortened version with the more substantive changes.

  1. Two proposed changes affect multiple sections and are highlighted in detail below.
  • Ceasing new joint memberships while providing similar rights to spouses of Individual members, with the exception of the legal right to capital credits and
  • Revising minimum requirements for members to serve on the Cooperative’s Board of Directors:
  1. A detailed review of the existing bylaws was performed, resulting in several proposed miscellaneous cleanup and other miscellaneous changes as well as a complete re-formatting of the bylaws for better readability.
