Geothermal heat pumps are the most efficient heating and cooling systems available. They offer a single, simple system that uses the earth to heat and cool your home, and they operate at efficiencies of up to 350 percent. Geothermal heat pumps are also environmentally friendly: You aren't creating heat, you're only moving it from one place to another.
Capital Electric is a manufacturer's representative and dealer for Enertech heat pumps. We offer free installation estimates, and we can coordinate installation from beginning to end. We can also estimate your annual operating cost as well as provide low-interest financing of 5% for 7 years.
HOW A GEOTHERMAL HEAT PUMP WORKS:
The earth has a handy property that makes geothermal systems possible -- year-round temperature stability. During the winter, when the earth is warmer than the air, heat is extracted from the ground and transferred to your home. In the summer, when the earth is cooler than the air, the process reverts itself: Cool air from the ground is used to cool your home.
FLEXIBLE OPTIONS:
Geothermal systems come in many styles to fit different needs and land space available. They can be a vertical-loop system, horizontal-loop system or slinky-loop system as illustrated in this example. The closed-loop system is a series of wells 200 feet deep with piping running through them. An antifreeze solution is circulated through these pipes to transfer heat from the ground to the home. The solution then goes to the heat pump, which transfers the heat to the home. An open loop system uses well water to run through the system. Well water is supplied to the heat pump and then discharged into a drain field.
